The portal...

Once again scifi-space-stuff...

This started out as a small late nighttime (actually morning ^^) sketch, just with a planet and the big ship on the left, but it was too empty, therefore I added some more ships, what made it boring, so the portal in the background...
Hope it works, even though I'm still not getting depth in space pics...

Something between 3-5 hours... Not quite sure, I made this over the last 2 days always a bit, and finished tonight...

its awesome :D

hint on depth (...not that im entitled to say anything considering imma complete noob when comes to digital art) -the ships in background is kinda same value (or whatever its called) as the front.
Distance would fade out the colour and the intensity. That would create a diff between the left ship (at distance) and the right being right on viewers head...oh btw i always mess up left and right, but hope u get which ones im talking about :P

lol...meh. Wish i could do that!

Trying sooo hard to learn speedpainting, but always seem to get caught up in details. Guess it's "just" practice practice and more practice :D

i had serious problems with details... just starting to take the time for it... together we could do a decent pic... :P

for speedpainting, you just need to find the moment to stop i think, don't fill it with details... as soon as the scene works regarding light and colours, it can be quite rough...

i have quite some awesome artists in my favs... mostly scifi-stuff, but some really good speedpainters are among them...

i'm a big fan of leventep... [link]
maybe his gallery will help you... :)
