10011...

Made this one for a small speedpainting contest with the task to make a pic showing how mankind will live in the year 10011. I personally think this is too far ahead to imagine (who would have thought of the internet in old egypt), but I tried...

This one really gave me a hard time, just couldn't put it together today. Really showed me again how much I still have to learn...
Well, on to the next! :)

With changing everything a few times all over the place it took me most of the afternoon and evening...

Funny thing is a lot of these futuristic ideas such as "human beings using all the resources, and THEN building huge spaceships to leave" are so daft! If you've used ALL the resources then how the hell would you have enough left to build HUGE spaceships that would be able to sustain even a small population for the necessary thousands of years it would take to get to a planet that would be suitable as a new earth? :shrug:

well, totally agreed... i assume they did start building those like a few hundred years before really everything was gone... but if things and people stay the way they are, you can rest assured that they will ruin even the last bit in financial speculation or for military use...

but like i said, 8000 years in the future is just to much to imagine... think you would have confronted someone still believing using a stone is advanced with a racing car... :confused:

That poor boat never deserved that fate! It should have sunk to the bottom of an ocean or lake to be a loverly fish house....perhaps it was? Curse you humans for using everything up!!! CURSE YOUUU!!!! :shakefish:

yeah... the idea was they wasted all natures resources, and now live in the deserted rest...

yeah dome cities... the whole pic looks so much like a perry rhodan :D

This is a really interesting concept, I've heard of similar ideas many times before but the paint work and overall image holds a unique style. By the way, may I have a link to this contest, I might join in myself.

thank you! yeah, the idea is not special, but i really had problems imagining so far into the future...

well... the contest is for a german carfaker website, and i'm afraid you gotta be a member to participate, and the deadline is in 2,5 h, midnight german time... but there will be more, definitely! :)
